Provincial Department of Sanitary Works and Services

From 2016 to 2023 we worked on different systems for DPOSS, the agency in charge of managing drinking water and sanitation services in the province of Tierra del Fuego, ensuring that all inhabitants have access to quality water services, contributing to public health and general welfare.

Institutional website

We developed an institutional website for the Dirección Provincial de Obras y Servicios Sanitarios that offers users a comprehensive platform to access information and services online. Through this website, users can:

  • Keep informed about the latest news and developments related to health services in the province.
  • Verify the status of the service in the different areas of the city and be aware of any interruptions or scheduled maintenance.
  • Carry out online procedures, such as obtaining certificates of free debt, and requesting appointments for different services.

Laboratory information management system

The water sampling laboratory collects data on the bacteriological and physicochemical characteristics of water supplied to various regions. Additionally, it plays a fundamental role in environmental monitoring efforts, including sampling, analyzing, and overseeing private effluent treatment plants, and provides services for bottled water analysis to third parties.

The management system optimizes the loading of analytical data, performs statistical evaluations and systematizes their input and reporting, thus providing immediate feedback to the correct department regarding the bacteriology of the water produced and supplied, creating an automatic and immediate dialogue channel between the two areas of the institution.

Previously, this data was recorded on paper and summarized in spreadsheets, which posed a risk due to the possible loss of information, in addition to slowing down communication between the different areas. With the implementation of this system, greater proactivity in management and a historical compilation in digital and secure format were achieved.

Virtual Office

The Virtual Office is an online platform that allows users to manage various procedures and queries quickly and easily, without having to go to the Department offices in person. This platform offers a series of services and functionalities designed to provide convenience and efficiency to users, optimizing processes and reducing the need for face-to-face procedures.

One of the main advantages of the Virtual Office for Users is the possibility of managing digital invoices quickly and easily. Users can join and receive their invoices by e-mail, without the need to receive printed invoices and contributing to the care of the environment.

Another important benefit is the option of paying invoices through Red Link, an electronic payment network for virtual payment of invoices.

In addition, users of the Virtual Office can view their debt online, allowing them to keep better control of their water consumption and the status of their outstanding bills. The platform also offers the possibility of carrying out procedures such as obtaining a free debt, reporting a water loss and requesting a bill for a specific connection and period, without the need to register on the platform.

Water treatment plant control panel

We developed a software that systematizes data on tank levels, river flow and activities in pumping stations of the water treatment plants in the city of Ushuaia.

This control panel allows access to information in real time and generates alerts in certain situations such as cisterns with low water, minimum flow of water entering production, activation and deactivation of pumps, notifying DPOSS management and technical personnel via SMS.

With this system, it is possible to keep key people informed before the levels of the observed variables reach situations that could jeopardize the production of drinking water for the city.

All the information generated is dumped into a historical record that managers and specialists can then access and download for further analysis.
